Reunion

Attended my 45th High School Class reunion this summer.  Holy crap...... my classmates all got old!

Still, it was and always is, good to see them all. We had food and conversation and were all home and presumably in bed by 10 oclock!

Nothing like a walk down memory lane with old friends.

Idiots....there every where

There is trouble (fighting etc..)  all over the Middle East.  Ebola is expanding is Africa.   What the heck is going on?  News agencies have been having a field day.  A never ending supply of material.  We ( American President)  have been taking a lot of guff for not having a plan to deal with a lot of it.  Criticism about the lack of handling a group of militant "terrorists"  going by the name Isis has been especially harsh.  I wouldn't begin to defend Mr. Obama's lack of real action,  after all his track record is poor.  What He, and most politicians,  are good at is talking.  It appears that most politicians agree that Isis behavior is bad.  (No kidding)  We have been randomly blowing up some of their stuff.  Again,  we are half-assing a solution.  It would take about a day and a half to bomb Isis into a bad memory.  Their behavior seems to warrant a good ass kicking.

It seems that middle eastern countries that we have recently been involved with are at it again.  We have apparently wasted considerable resources attempting to affect change.  I submit, still, that they are not interested in our ideoligy.  Why do we continue to allow these small wasteland countries to drag us into conflict that is more a way of life to them than a real problem begging solution?

Ebola.......scary stuff.  Underdeveloped countries are very suceptable to any health issue.  They have no resources to control any outbreak, nor do they have the mentality to avoid spreading dangerous disease.  As harsh as it may sound,  I am not affected by the problems in these underdeveloped countries,  so I care very little.

We are still posturing with Russia (or whatever they are called these days) over their interest in the Ukrane.  Putin seems to be aggressive and desiring the takeover of the Ukrane.  I don't care much.  I am not sure why his actions are so much different than our recent actions in other parts of the world.
If all the turmoil in other parts of the world have a direct effect on me, I am unaware. From my perspective most of it makes little sense.

Speaking of little sense...............................People of Ferguson,  how stupid are you?  Burn down and steal from your own neighborhood! You weren't protesting a thing.  You were taking advantage of the citizens of your own town and being thugs and thieves.  Give me a break.  Shame on the authorities for not using more force to stop your stupidity.  Real grief and protest is not done under cover of darkness nor is it taken out on community members by ruining their property.

Idiots are found in many many places.

Splish Splash

It was 90 some degrees today.  Felt more like a blast furnace.  Early evening brought out one of those typical Indiana thunderstorms.  Very dark skies,  wind,  very heavy rain and hail the size of lima beans.  Lots of noise accompanying all of the other elements,  which scares our dog to death.

As the storm passed and the sun started to re-appear,  I remembered as children we would rush outside (because having to be inside was a fate worse than a bad case of poison ivy).  Once outside we would look for "mud-puddles".  Then we would either ride our bicycles through them or simply wade into them.  There was something magical about the feel of what was cold water falling from the sky just moments ago.  Now, warmed by the ground,  it felt unusually, uncharacteristically soothing as we splashed around in it.

I just had to try walking in those puddles again, today.  It was still very soothing.  I couldn't help splashing around while the puddle slowly disappeared.  Sometimes it can make your day when you allow yourself some of those long forgotten pleasures.

Take time to splash around.
