Wow, how time flies. Seems like just last week I was ramping up my bid for President. Somewhere along the way I became sidetracked with the circus that was termed "campaigning" by other folks. I haven't been a fan of recent election campaigns because of all the childish verbal slop that comes with them. I, for the last several months, have sat in my chair with my chin on my chest, watching our election process deteriorate into a school yard name calling session. Such immature behavior and outright lying going on by the future leaders of our great Nation. And, by the way Mr. Trump, our Nation is great. So I don't need to constantly hear how you are the ONE to save us. We are a little broken and its scum like you that broke it.
Its time I interject here that I am not a fan of any person that ran for President this time. I am not a Republican, Democrat, Liberal, Conservative or any other label that is bantied about today. I am an American, and, one that is as dissatisfied as many others.
I feel we are at a crossroads in our growth as a country and in dire need of reform. Our political leaders have become self absorbed and are no longer looking out for the "people" of our country. They are self promoting and lazy and need to find a real profession. They constantly talk about entitlements for the poor being abused while they abuse the people of this country with their irresponsible spending and self agrandizement. The results of the recent election have done nothing to alleviate my concerns. I am at a loss as to how intelligent people cannot see through the lies and constant rhetoric that we are exposed to each day. If politicians aren't spewing their particular drivel, then, the media is doling out their self inflated opinions on us. It is becoming increasingly difficult to figure out the truth in anything we hear and see. Comparisons to past leaders with treacherous agendas are everywhere. It is a frightening thought that the American public is becoming immune to the truth and will believe whatever is offered as fact, by who ever shouts the loudest. Many horrible leaders from the past were duly elected because they had a persona that mesmerized people. Given that many of us are enamoured with celebrity, I wonder if we simply voted for our favorite persona / personality.
Again, let me reiterate, I am not a fan of any particular person, party or group. I have serious doubts about our newly elected officials. Doubts that I have had since becoming aware of our political system, many years ago. My frustrations are not new, rather, heightened by our recent election of someone that I feel was the least qualified person available. Don't get your panties in a wad, I did not suggest Mrs. Clinton would be better. So drop your thoughts that I am a Democrat or any other party affiliate. Mr. Trump, to me, is a childish, self-promoting, egotist. I fear his agenda is for the good of Trump Inc., not the USA and its member citizens. I hope I am wrong.
As I sit and reflect on the past 12 to 18 months, I can not help but think......Wow!....Really?
I will share thoughts on a variety of subjects and would encourage readers to comment as they wish. I may, however, edit responses to keep dumb asses from showing themselves!

Platform
So, I have been a little side tracked. Seems the American public is infatuated with candidates financial statements. My Accountants (Dewey, Cheatem and Howe) have assured me that in the matter of Tax returns, I have not received any returned Taxes in the past several decades. So, I assume that will satisfy all those interested parties. That leaves the matter of speaking fees. I swear that I have never charges a single soul for the privilege of listening to me jabber on about anything. I probably don't see anyone paying me in the near or far future either. Now, down to business........
When we last were in touch, I was outlining my platform for my Presidency. Number two on my list is the fact that we carry substantial trade deficits with a variety of nations. I know, I read it on the Internet. Google trade deficits and a list of sources pop up. For those not as well versed in matters of international stuff, trade deficit means we send more money to a nation than we get back. Sooner or later all our money has been sent. Policies need changed to force a more balanced trade.Taxing imports at a higher rate will help to balance deficits.
Number three. Our aging infrastructure. Maintaining such vast roadways, bridges and utilities requires large sums of money and labor. Aid that is sent to foreign countries that is unappreciated and money spent on stupid little conflicts should be spent at home. Welfare recipients should be put to work as labor on maintenance of infrastructure. What the heck, were supporting those people anyway.
Lets push a HOT button.......IMMIGRATION. We have had for decades a channel for legal immigration to this country. There is not provision for ILLEGAL immigration. Lets secure our borders and control our destiny. Those that wish to become citizens have a path. If you wish to live here, assimilate. Learn our language, abide by our laws and call America your country. Nuff.
Tax, what a nasty word. OK kids, listen up. Any one that tells you they will lower your taxes is full of shit. We are up to our ass in debt and can only pay it with money....Tax money. Paying our fair share is a responsibility that is required for us to continue to celebrate the marvelous freedoms that we hold dear. Should we restructure the tax codes, you bet your bippie. A simple flat tax will work. As debt comes back into control, tax could conceivably lower, but, if you are reading this there is a better chance than not you will not live long enough. It is something we owe to future generations.
Ok, that should hold you for a little while. Just remember, this is our country and we cannot continue to F it up.

Flush twice
So, I watched as much of the Republican National Convention as my stomach would allow. WOW what an amazing collection of Cheerleaders. They came from all walks of life, all shapes and sizes. The message was very predictable, Republicans are GOOD and Democrats are EVIL, especially HRC.
Mrs. Trump was attacked for her probable copy of a previous speech. The message was good, but didn't make for as good TV as when the self righteous news media jumped on her with both feet. Mr. Cruz set everything on fire with what he didn't say. I may be slow, but, even I would not have invited someone to speak that I had just spent months spreading rumors about and attacking them and their family. I assume we can expect more stupid decisions from the Republicans between now and election time.
Now, don't get me wrong, I have no more faith in the Democrats and their upcoming Party "Party". It is painfully obvious to me that the Party that can paint the most disgusting picture of their opponent expects to be the winner. Meanwhile, we the public have to put up with which ever turd doesn't go down with the flush.
Dare I say ......FLUSH TWICE!

POTUS, for short
Well crap! I didn't think I would be ready to run for President this year, but, look at the buggers we have as probable candidates. A Clown with no ability to marshal a complete sentence, a mind and mouth without any filter, no serious answer to any of the myriad of problems facing this country and an innate ability to capture the attention of our incredibly moronic news media. On the flip side, we have a candidate that cannot escape controversy. She is blamed for nearly every despicable happening in the last two decades, weather on not she had any actual involvement. Obviously she has taken money from all sorts of devious people and countries, as if that is new to our political system.
Each Candidate has spent countless hours and money to continue to tell us what a complete ass the other candidate is. Obviously, the American voting public cares more about who wins the mud slinging than what real abilities a candidate has to identify and help solve issues facing us.
Because of the lack of a serious candidate, I feel compelled to throw my hat in the ring. I shall run on the Indrecrat ticket. What is that, you say? That's a party that has no boundaries. We have no isles to cross, no established controlling entity and no reason to not do what is right. After all, I have the opinion that is what our elected officials are supposed to be doing.
So, I need a platform to run on. Well, sit back and take a gander at my list of issues to work on. They are listed in my perceived order of importance.
1- National debt
2-National trade deficit
3-National infrastructure
4-Immigration policies
5-Tax structure
6-Welfare system
7-Social security system
8-Elected personnel terms and responsibilities
9-Tort reform
10-Pork attachments to bills
I will address each of these points in detail over the next couple days. Let me offer a few thoughts on item number one right now to start you thinking. Our National debt is extremely out of control and there is no visible sign that anyone in our political system has any concern. We constantly drive the debt up with stupid spending practices and an un-willingness to make the hard choices needed to reign it back. How and why in hell did we give up control to a gaggle of corrupt politicians? I say corrupt because the fact that we are in this predicament means we are being taken advantage of and our money is being spent foolishly. A balanced budget should not be anything other than a requirement of our elected officials. Failure to do so should result in a simple firing. What other business on earth allows upper management to continually drive debt up and up?
So, how do we right the ship? Spending has to be brought back in control. We simply cannot continue to blindly spend money on countries and conflicts that have no value in doing so. Government costs should never exceed fair market value. We continually spend more for items for government use. Military expenditures need examined for actual need, ie replacement of aging equipment that is not to be abandoned in some foolish foreign conflict. We need to force other countries to take care of their own problems. Harsh, I know, but, we cannot continually finance other countries while we do so with borrowed money. Entitlement programs should require some effort to be received. Drug testing should be mandatory for inclusion in these programs. (see items 6&7 in future posts) In short, money cannot be spent on a whim. Item #10 will deal with a major problem with our budget.
I love living in this country. I love the freedoms we have and the prosperity that is possible. I cannot imagine that there is a better place on Earth, but, I have concerns for the future. So, join me on a quest to actually make this a better place to live.
My name is DINO and I am running for President of the United States. (That's POTUS for short)

I may qualify.
ELECTION TIME IS COMING!!!!!!!! I'm so excited.....well, that was a big fat lie. Actually, I watch a lot of the political nonsense , mostly with my mouth agape. I cannot believe the crap that comes out of our future leaders mouths. I live next door to the local elementary school playground and I swear I can hear the same stuff three times a day!
It is not enough that politicians have descended to "mud slinging", how about those Fox "analysts" and their attacking questions. They have a misguided sense of superiority and self worth. The Kelly woman was particularly over the top. And all that drama from the Republican channel.
No secret by now, I hate the two party system. The Republican party is all but dead. There has been a complete loss of control. Now, I don't necessarily care, but that does not bode well for sitting Republicans. Barnum and Bailey just retired all their elephants.......maybe they know something!!
The Republican party started the season with 20 or so candidates, non of which were worth a shit. Republicans, for lack of a real live serious person as candidate have gravitated toward the Clown show entitled TRUMP. While he has opened debate on some serious issues, he has been completely void of solutions. He , come to think of it, is a master politician. He can talk for hours and not say anything of substance. Trump, like all the rest, is adept at telling how bad the other candidates are. We already know all the candidates are the scourge of the human race, tell me why you should be elevated past pond scum. Contrary to popular belief, the character of your opponents is not the most pressing problem facing our country.
I don't want to forget the Democratic party. Unlike the Republicans, their problems are minor. They are ending 8 years of controversial rule. They have a candidate with little chance of winning candidacy promising to give away all the money we do not have. The front runner for Dems has a great deal of the public attempting character assassination. Reality to me is that we will most likely see a woman President. Thats cool, but don't expect any real change or progress on issues facing us today. Again, our system is filled with ignorant, self serving politicians.
I didn't get around to filing my candidacy this year, but watch out in 2020. I am growing a little dumber with age. By 2020 I could just be stupid enough to qualify!

Offense
A local High School, Goshen, just decided to drop its mascot to appease a few people that considered it offensive. I find that offensive. That we have become a society that bends to a minority that claim offense at tradition makes me uneasy. I find the two party system, weak system of punishment for criminals, the word politician, tomatoes, and just about a zillion other things offensive. To attempt to eliminate all things offensive to all people would be just OFFENSIVE.
We can make anything offensive if we seek to do so. Look for the other side of the subject. Over a hundred years ago the School board at Goshen did not sit down and say "Ah yes, lets call ourselves REDSKINS because that is the most vile thing we can think of". I would rather imagin that the thinking was more to the tune that the Native Americans were a proud people with good values.
Where is the offense?

Character
Ramping up to yet another exciting election. I say that with tongue-in-cheek.
Already we have Donald Trump, the ultimate showman, making a mockery of the political establishment. His "tell it like he see's it " rhetoric is making the establishment very nervous, but, is down right entertaining. He has said some things that are touching nerves within the party he has chosen to be part of. Naturally, others in the realm of candidates for president have begun the much anticipated attacks. After all that is how the system works. Discredit the opponent, but, don't discuss any real issues or offer any solutions.
Speaking of political attacks.......how about the continued attempts to assassinate Mrs. Clintons character. She is the ultimate politician and probably the most qualified candidate to become President. I say this because she is adept at politicking and that is the primary requirement for ascending to our highest office. At this time the Donkey party has no alternative. The Pachyderm party has the modern version of Barnum and Bailey leading in the polls. Both leading candidates are adept at saying a lot without saying anything. Both are spending most of their time explaining what they said or did and backtracking. Lets embrace the fact that they are the front runners and engage them with worthwhile discussions about how they would solve some of our major problems. Lets start with how we pull ourselves out of Trillions of dollars of debt. Then lets tackle a crumbling infrastructure. Lets talk about how to reshape our pathetic wimpy foreign relations. Lets start restructuring our political system so we are more effective at solving problems in the best interest of all Americans. How about how we can deal with real threats to the world (ISIS) and not how we can prevent something that has yet to happen (Iran and the Bomb). Stop the bullshit about gun control and toughen up on crime and PUNISHMENT. How about an actual war on drugs. National health care that really is affordable. ETC....
What the heck........I think I will throw my hat in the ring. I would be a good President. I have no political or special interest ties. I am a pretty good problem solver. I have been called a character.... thats close to having character!!!!
